Pastor Mukungu Charles is the founder of His Grace Ministries in Uganda and he is also the senior Pastor of His Grace Church. He is married to Robinah Mukungu since 1995 whom he is directly working with in Ministry. They have been blessed with 7 children (Ruth, Esther, Rose, John, Angel and twins).
They have served the lord with great enthusiasm, enduring tough and challenging times whose endurance has helped in the expansion of the ministry. They both have great love for children (Matt 19:14) and they have been blessed with a passion for creating opportunities to assist the needy and orphaned children.
They have not worked alone, but with a team of other ministers, partners, volunteers and well wishers who have actively contributed to furthering of this cause. |

Welcome to the website of His Grace Ministries, a non-governmental, non denominational ministry, registered in Uganda under the ministry of Gender and Community Development.
The ministry was launched in 2006 by a servant of God, Pastor Mukungu Charles after hearing God’s direct instructions to start a ministry in Butangala Village.
Butangala village is found in Buwenge Rural in Jinja District, Eastern Uganda about 22 km from Jjinja Town along Kamuli Road.
Butangala Village has a population of approximately 6,000 people while Buwenge Town has a population of approximately 80,000 people.
Since Butangala is a village the main source of livelihood is purely agriculture. It is highly characterized with child headed homes, domestic violence, belief in witchcraft among others.
Pastor Mukungu Charles, who was a long time town dweller in Kampala the capital city of Uganda, yielded wholly to God’s direction and went to live in a deep village he never imagined to be for the sake of fulfilling God’s call upon his life though Butangala Village is also his birth place.
According to him, the start of the ministry was not easy, but God was with him through all the challenges. As of now, there is amassive response to the Gospel by the local people in the community and also various programmes to assist the local needy families have been put in place.
We thank our partner organizations, well-wishers and volunteers who have stood with in this work in the area of child sponsorship, providing shelter for the elderly and initiation of income generating projects for ministry sustenance, though there is still more standing needs to be met.
As a ministry, we operate in the following areas:
- His Grace Church, in a temporally shelter with over 50 people
- His Grace Nursery and primary school with over 360 children, offering sponsorship for 37 orphans and vulnerable children
- His Grace Orphanage Home, catering for 25 orphans and vulnerable children
The biggest cause for the presence of a large number of orphans in our communities and Africa at large is greatly attributed to HIV/AIDS pandemic and poverty making it difficult for people to afford better medical care and access to safe water.
There are also a number of children who are not orphans but come from poor needy families which cannot afford education, treatment and proper feeding for the children.
Another case is where after the death of the parents, the care takers sell off the properties meant for the children, leaving them in a state of lack and need.
HIS GRACE MINISTRIES is therefore established to address such issues as these.
